"I stayed at the Truss Hotel this past weekend. The price wasn’t outrageous, but it wasn’t a bargain either.\nFinding the hotel was tough due to poor signage. The lobby was almost non-existent—dark, small, and uninviting. Carpets throughout the hotel and the elevators felt dirty. The room was clean but plain, with some items not working properly. The cabinet holding the fridge and microwave looked cheaply made from stained plywood. The bathroom was tiny and poorly appointed. The entryway to my suite area (not the room door) lacked a lock, which felt insecure.\nDespite a “Do Not Disturb” sign, a staff member walked in unannounced. That was my only staff interaction besides the front desk.\nThe hotel runs with minimal staff and service. While it claims to be in Times Square, it’s actually in Hell’s Kitchen—not a bad area but not Times Square. If I’m paying Times Square prices, I expect to be in Times Square.\nOverall, there are much better options in NYC at this price. I won’t be returning."

"12 minute walk from Times Square, 40 min walk to Central Park, 12 minute walk to The High Line. I suppose it would be nice to stay closer to the subway if using that as main transportation on your visit.\n\nThe room had a few glitches, including electrical. A light built into the headboard kept turning on spontaneously. We told them about it but it was not fixed. We found that keeping the iron box pressed against the switch helped.\n\nComfort level of bed/pillows was on the lower side, maybe 3/10.\n\nStaff are all good, and speak Spanish.\n\nOverall a decent stay."

"Loved the hotel location, and the good quality restaurants around it. The rooms have a lot of potential, they are not bad, however, they do have some electrical issues, I tried connecting my usb port charger and they did not have a USB port, not sure if it was only my room or in general? They also have charging ports in only one side of the bed not both (king size bedroom). We came early for our check in so they let us stored our bags, we did have to pay a small amount, but hotel nearby like the Voco don’t make you pay for storage. Not something that we cared a lot but if you are looking to save some extra money it could really help. The staff was nice on our stay, we would come in or leave and they would greet us appropriately. Another thing is that we tried going to the roof top and said that it was only for residents, it would be nice to pay for a nice view. They have a gym, AC wasn’t working properly and wasn’t communicated to us, so if you you’re planning to workout it’s going to be a very hot workout. Maid service was amazing though, we would come to our room clean, beds made and nice smell. Not a bad hotel, but it can be a great one with a couple of improvements!"
