"The room was okay. No wallpaper just a wall with no paint but the bed was nice with a nice TV and the bathroom was okay with a hot shower.\n\nI had trouble getting in day one because I didnt have a clue what the code was to get into the main door. I rang them and no answer but rang them second time and they gave me the code to get in but still had to wait around half hour for someone to show me to my room and give me the key. It should be more prepared and planned for guest coming in.\n\nAfter that scenario I had a great time and it's set in a good location and can access into the hotel anytime using the code.\n\nIt seriously needs decorating to make this hotel excellent and for the price I would expect a bit better but overall still okay."

"I cancelled my stay with Melva Inn early March as graduation in New York was cancelled for May. I have sent several messages to The Inn requesting communication regarding a refund of deposit. This hotel cannot even meet my expectation of a response by email what does this say to a guest that actually pays to stay here. I'm embarrassed that I blessed the owner with my hard earned money, don't make the same mistake that I did, hope this helps steer your towards a more responsible and honest hotelier in the city. Do not place a deposit with this hotel on Bookings.com, there are many hotels that do not ask for a deposit up front."

"Inn keeper is a darling. I had a nice Room w a Private Bath. Soft clean sheets, plush towels a the bed was comfortable firm. Decor was simple and contemporary with a touch of color and vintage style. I would Absolutely stay here again. I felt comfortable and safe. More like home. Parking can be a challenge anywhere in NYC but it worked out good for me. Got a great spot right down the block and didn't have to worry about my car getting tickets or towed."
