"I stayed at this hotel for 3nights. The hotel is in excellent location. 10steps to Subway 34st Herald. The price is very good if you are in budget and want to stay in Manhattan. They did room service for me everyday (change towel, trash, make the bed). They have only soap in the bathroom. Actually, I am not confident to stay due to the reviews also. I have brought my towel and amenities just in case they don’t provide. Overall is acceptable for 3star hotel in Manhattan with good location and good price."

"If you know what to expect, the hotel is good! We had 1 set of towels in our deluxe room, which was clean and comfortable. Good size for Manhattan. Some things show its age like the older furniture or scratches on walls. I can tell that the hotel definitely used to be a courtyard. It doesn't seem like I was ever charged for the hold on my CC, so that's not an issue. The AC didn't get super cold, but our room hovered between 74 and 77 and that was sufficient for my travel party. I recommend keeping the bathroom fan on, which helps push air through the weak AC unit. We did have to go downstairs to get more towels, which were limited (and seems like taken from other hotels based on the tags). The elevators were a little creaky, fyi.\n\nOverall, I would stay here again. It's cheaper than most other hotels and the area was great to stay on with the subway staircase right at the doorstep and good shopping in proximity. We did have to bring our own toiletries, but a very small bar of soap was provided."

"Very rarely do I give out 1-star reviews but The Herald proved it deserved not just one star, but really any negative stars. It was not a good stay whatsoever.\n\nMy friends and I originally booked for four nights in June. We saw the glaring issues right away with our accommodations and the service.\n\nFirst, the air conditioner was not functioning properly. The HVAC system would blow warm air into the room and despite asking for help with the controls and attempting to set the temperatures lower, it remained high, making the room very uncomfortable.\n\nNext, amenities were not provided and not advertised as such. Therefore, we had to purchase our own soap and shampoo which seemed ridiculous given we were paying high prices for a stay in Manhattan.\n\nWhen we approached the staff regarding these issues (especially the former), we were outright lied to with their "timeline" of when the AC would be fixed and given the go-around when asking to speak with a manager or upper management as our complaints were not being taken seriously.\n\nIt got to a point where we filed complaints with the city of New York as well as their management information once we did some sleuthing online. Due to the horrible conditions, we ended up booking a different hotel nearby after being dealt no support by the in-house staff.\n\nIt is now nearly two months out and we are still in discussions with their alleged management about a refund. Ridiculous.\n\nDo not stay here and if you do, be prepared for a messy experience."
