"My girlfriend and I stayed in the penthouse balcony suite and it was amazing!!!! The bed was so comfortable and the shower amenities were lifesaving! The view was great on the balcony and it had lots of space! As we were leaving they offered to hold our bags for us which was another lifesaver since we planned on hanging out for a while after check out. We will definitely be revisiting in the future. There was no noise from the street too!"

"Booked a deluxe king room and was not expecting this! Huge room for a great price, nice location close to the subway and friendly staff! The balcony was beautiful and had a great view. Also extra points for all of the disposables in the bathroom- I was like okkkk, I’m getting treated like a queen. Loved Allen hotel, will be my staple hotel in NYC from now on!!!!!"

"I booked a special balcony room at The Allen Hotel for an anniversary stay, and while the location was convenient and staff polite, the experience was disappointing and not as advertised.\n\nI was promised a balcony room with a view—what I got was a basic room with no real view. The first room was tiny and not what I booked. The replacement was slightly larger, but still felt unclean and outdated. The bed was uncomfortable, HDMI didn’t work, and the musty smell was everywhere.\n\nThere was no room service, no breakfast, no full-length mirror, and the women’s sauna was broken. The fitness area—the only amenity offered—felt so unsafe I had to leave immediately. As a woman, I felt I was being watched, and that is completely unacceptable.\n\nWorse, I was charged before arrival, even though I selected “pay at property.” And on top of it all, I encountered a drunk, barefoot man in a towel in the stairwell—not the greeting you want on an anniversary.\n\nThis hotel needs a serious update and better guest care. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for women or special occasions. I’ve requested compensation due to this experience and advise travelers to consider better options nearby."
