"Stayed here 3 times already over the past years. Staff is fine, nothing stands out. The location is great, plenty of food spots such as the Manhattan Diner which has good breakfast.\n\nRoom cleanliness: 7/10\n2 of the 3 times I stayed the room was dusty or looked like house keeping might of missed some spots vacuuming. Bathroom and beds were always clean.\n\nLocation 10/10:\nRiver 5 blocks left of the entrance of the hotel. Subway entrance 2 blocks away. And plenty of great dining options with high reviews. Not super busy like in downtown Manhattan.\n\nExtra:\n- Free wifi\n- Can have you own personal bathrooms if you pay enough\n- AC\n- rooms are not too small.\n- the rooms I was in came with towels, hairdryer, and even shampoo and such.\n\nI would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for just a place to sleep"

"Arrived to early, no early checked in allowed, one cleaning lady for the whole hotel, Great start to the trip was when someone in my party sat in a lobby chair and ruined her jeans because it was full of vomit or some other disgusting fluid with chunks of food. When she flipped the then front desk woman came around all irritated that she was upset and completely ignored that this was disgusting and told her to get over it. My party changed checked the luggage, we had an event to get to and just got off a plane that we had been on for 7hrs. We should have known then this was a horrible hotel. We eventually ended up back there & went up to our 3 rooms. Every single room had stains on all layers of the bedding including the pillows. Hair all over the bed layers along with debatable bed bugs. Towels were dirty as well. One of the doors had been kicked in previously and did not safely lock/close properly. It was like we walked into a horror movie, I could have swore this hotel is a brothel or at-least the 3rd floor is. Very disappointed & absolutely disgusted. Unfortunately the front desk was unwilling to refund our money even with obvious health code violations. But kindly offered to change the sheets. Um hello you told us we couldn’t check in because housekeeping was doing that this afternoon and I am pretty sure if 3 different rooms have the same provable issues, why would we want any other rooms. There is no manager on site and no contact information available to contact a manager. Front desk refused to give us contact information. Thankfully we booked this hotel through credit card and the credit card company was able to refund the charge, they stepped in to fight it as fraud. Was an awesome way to start a trip. Never have seen anything like this and the hotel was just rude, no customer service but had no shame in taking people’s money. It was not cheap, but we took a chance since it was a large group and the small amount saved added up for our cross country trip. The Holiday Inn was near the same price, extremely nice and clean. We were able to book within minutes and were provided a discount on behalf of being visitors to the big Apple and they felt horrible for what we had just went through. Wish I could share the pictures on here, feel free to find them on yelp before picking this hotel."

"We got the double room with bathroom and it was great! The room was a cold, the bathroom was a little dirty looking (might be the old style needs updating) the hallways smelled gross, some of the hand towels had brown stains all over them but there were lots of clean fresh towels for us. The place overall needs updating however you just can’t beat the price. Keep in mind people this is a hostel not hotel. You get what you pay for here in New York so for $75 not bad not bad at all. Location is great it’s around everything, neighborhood is quiet and close to attractions and subway. I’m satisfied because we didn’t pay a lot. If you want an immaculate room get a 4-5 star hotel and pay $400 plus tax and resort fees."
