Park 79 Hotel

"I rented the semi private double room for one night which cost me about $150. The room had a comfortable bed,TV, hairdryer , and clothing iron. The bathroom was in the hallway. However it was clean. The TV didn't have good pictures quality. Since the bathroom was in the hallway, the room had a sink and and mirror, which was pretty convenient. It's a small hotel with the tiniest elevator. But I got what I paid for, a clean quiet room with a comfortable bed with AC and wifi which was next to tons of restaurants, subway, Central Park, museums and pretty much everything else. I highly recommend it. I dient have to use any room service so I don't i ow how that is."

"Just got back to California after spending three nights at Park 79. First off, the front desk was terrific and very polite. If we had any questions about directions, needing the hotel to call a cab, or finding a nice quiet spot to eat, they were always very helpful. Our room was small, but cozy. Since we were in town to have fun and sight see, not lie in bed all day, it was perfect. More importantly, the hotel is close to two subway stops, one on 81 St. near the Natural History Museum, and one on 79th St, a few blocks away from Park 79. My wife and I plan on staying here again in the future."

"We reserved a room for three nights starting on a Friday evening. I called the day before to make sure the room was for three people. The lady that I spoke with had a heavy accent and she said she could make the room for three. I should have had her clarify that because the room was the smallest that I have ever stayed in. It was dark and claustrophobic. The bed was too soft -- for some reason they put a piece of foam on top of the mattress. They offered to place a bed in the room for our daughter but there was no room. The queen bed was against the wall with a narrow space on the left side to enter the tiny bathroom. Once the door was opened there was a two foot space to the edge of the bed. Priceline said that the room contained a desk and a chair but there was neither. Our eleven year old daughter slept on the floor with pillows for two nights until I discovered roaches in the bathroom and we all uncomfortably slept in the same bed. This is a building that was chopped up into rooms to call itself a boutique hotel. I have stayed in a boutique hotel in Manhattan before and Park 79 can not compare. If you do decide to say here then avoid room 110. It should be made into a work room. My husband had to work in the noisy lobby at night and a designated room for this would have been better. The room was clean and did not smell."
