La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham New York City Central Park

"This was the worst experience ever in a hotel. Staff was not friendly. We stayed here after our cruise to spend time in New York. Elevator went out one day and we were on the top floor. When I checked in they asked for a credit card for incidentals but what they didn't say is that they were charging a resort fee. This is not a resort so I don't know why there was a fee. Rooms were small and the bathroom was smaller than the one on the cruise ship. Staff was not friendly. The food was OK. The nicest person in the place was one of the food staff. The other one was just rude and not customer friendly."

"The location is right near the beautiful Central Park!\nThe staff was amazing from management all the way to security, everyone was very friendly and accommodating.\nEven though it’s an older building it is clean and maintained.\nIt sits between beautiful brown stones.\nI felt very safe, especially knowing that there was a security guard on site. He was very friendly. I travel alone for work so safety is very important to me."

"The hotel was recommended by friends due to its convenient access to public transportation.\nUnfortunately, the condition of the hotel is appalling. The building is in severe disrepair, with peeling walls both inside and outside.\n\nWe arrived at 11:00 AM and were given our room immediately. Without inspecting it, we left our luggage and went out.\nWhen we returned at 10:00 PM, we realized what a serious mistake we had made.\n\nThere are warning signs everywhere, advising guests to dial 911 if they feel unsafe — including in the room and on the phone itself. Clearly, safety is a major concern at this property.\n\nAs for the room itself: it's in terrible shape. The walls are peeling, the bathroom ceiling is covered in mold, the toilet barely functions, and worst of all — there’s no hot water.\nOn top of that, the air conditioner is so noisy it’s impossible to sleep.\n\nI went down to the front desk to speak with the night receptionist and explained the unacceptable state of the room. He admitted that the water heater had broken and there would be no hot water for several days.\n\nI refused to stay under such conditions and demanded to cancel the reservation and leave.\nThankfully, he did not argue and issued a confirmation of the refund.\n\nI sincerely hope the refund is processed as promised — this experience was absolutely unacceptable."
