Holiday Inn New York City Times Square by IHG

"Not worth the money. There are cheaper hotels nearby where you will have a better experience just blocks away. The view is wonderful and a unique angle of the city.\n\nUnfriendly people all around from guests to staff to the people always in the front of the building. The nicest staff members were the maintenance man who opened the safe when I couldn't get it unlocked and the woman at the front desk on Wednesday afternoon and the female security guard. I didn't meet and of the cleaning staff but they did an excellent job. Other staff members acted like they were exhausted by me being there. I said excuse me to someone in the restaurant because I wasn't sure if they were still open even though the doors were and was ignored.\n\nThe rooms were clean and felt clean which I greatly appreciate. They were small but most NYC hotel rooms are and it wasn't a problem. But chairs in the room sank so much when I tried to sit on them I gave up. Showerhead was pointed towards the glass doors so it didn't spray forward and it couldn't be moved. This actually made it quite hard to shower. The shower was and felt clean though. Also it was a short king bed not a regular king bed and that was not something I was aware of when I booked the room. Air conditioner was a blessing since there was a heatwave.\n\nFront desk was unhelpful for giving information about the area. Really bad elevator situation because there are only two small ones for the entire hotel. I know that's not fixable but it still sucked. I'm also certain it's a safety hazard. I expected it during the busy periods since they have warnings in the elevator about "elevator rush hour" but this was also during their less busy times before 8am.\n\nThe best thing is that the view was incredible. Worst Holiday Inn I've stayed in, including in others also located in Manhattan."

"I had never been to NYC so picking this hotel was sort of a guess based on location. Turns out this was a great choice. So many of our planned activities were within walking distance and those not within walking distance the subway was close by.\n\nOur first night we realized the AC wasn’t working properly and we mentioned it the next morning. Hotel staff worked quickly to put us into a different room and they offered us a free breakfast for our inconvenience.\n\nI felt safe in and around the hotel as hotel had security in the lobby at all times. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area.\n\nOverall a great hotel and I’d definitely stay there again should I return to NYC."

"I used to live in NYC and was back for a concert so I booked this hotel due to its proximity to my company's workspace and the venue. I was impressed with how great the room was. The king size bed took up most of the room but instead of feeling cramped, with the wide windows, it felt cozy. I was on the 30th floor and the view was amazing. The Dove products in the bathroom were a nice touch.\n\nThe staff was wonderful and friendly.\n\nOverall it exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed it and would definitely book again on a return trip."
