"Just returned from a 3 night stay with 3 of us. Great location at a very reasonable price and fantastic service.\n\nIf you’ve never stayed in Manhattan or another large city hotel but stay at HIE or other IHG properties regularly, be prepared to be somewhere between underwhelmed and disappointed in the room. It’s tiny, but you’re paying for a bed and access to the forty right outside your door.\n\nSolid chain and local restaurant options right outside your door, 4-6 minute walk to primary subway lines, and you can be in the center of Times Square with a 15 minute walk. We had reasonable temperatures while there (low 80s). I would be a little concerned with the ability of the ac unit in our room had it been much hotter. We had ours turned down to 61 degrees and the room hovered at 70 most of the time.\n\nWe got a solid rate through our IHG Gold+ membership. I would stay here again."

"This hotel as a hotel is awful! I have no idea how there are so many good reviews. It has two positive qualities- service and location. Service was awesome. The staff were so nice and the concierge in the breakfast room was really helpful. The location was very convenient to the subway and many NYC attractions. We stayed 3 nights in two different rooms. In general the hotel is run down, chairs in the breakfast room are worn, the carpets are all buckled and dingy. For our rooms, both were their own version of bad. We had one room where the shower door didn’t close so the bathroom flooded when showering, the drawers in the bureau kept opening making a small room smaller and the door to the bathroom took a Herculean effort to open. So they changed our room. I wish they hadn’t. It got worse! The door to the bathroom didn’t close and the door to the room barely closed without a ton of effort. Our key didn’t work 3 times and had to be reset. Worst was the terrible mattresses that shrunk to nothing after you laid on them for 5 minutes. And then they were uneven such that you felt like you were going to fall out in the middle of the night. I would have asked to change again but was afraid it might get worse still. I would never stay here again unless there are major renovations."

"This hotel is located in a great location and was affordable for the area. Unfortunately, our room had many issues. The drawers were difficult to open and close, the shower leaked, and the sliding bathroom door broke half way through our stay and it would not open or close. Also, there was a brown stain on the sheets our first night there and they did not bring up replacement sheets until the next morning. The staff were kind in offering us compensation for our issues though. Overall great location but the rooms need work."
