"Shout out to Jose who went above and beyond to give us what we needed to be comfortable and have a good experience! Always willing to do what he could to make our stay better, he’s a shining star! In general the staff was courteous and attentive. A previous reviewer got it right when they said “this hotel has everything you need and nothing you don’t”. Everything we needed: window that opened, small gym in the basement, small but cleverly laid out rooms, relatively quiet, great location near many subway lines. It was small, spare, and spartan but comfortable and well priced. Someone really gave this a lot of thought with the budget traveler in mind. My only complaint was the cleansers or room fragrance that was used. Overpowering chemical smell. Jose offered to tell housekeeping not to use it but I played it safe and cancelled housekeeping services for the rest of our stay. With the window opened, the smell dissipated by the next day. Aloft Fidi will be my home away from home whenever I come to New York from now on!"

"Avoid this hotel at all costs. Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in NYC. The staff was consistently rude and dismissive every time we needed something or made a simple request, we were met with attitude. No greetings, no smiles, just pure hostility.\n\nThe management team is even worse. Both managers were incredibly unprofessional and condescending when we asked for basic accommodations. Our room was outdated, the AC didn’t work, and everything felt run-down and neglected.\n\nWhen we asked for a refund or even a slight adjustment, the response was cold and disrespectful. This hotel does not represent the Marriott standard whatsoever it honestly felt like a scam. If you value your money and peace of mind, do not stay here."

"Great location in the Financial District, close to transit and sights. Staff was friendly and the lobby had a dated modern vibe. But the room felt tired and in need of updates, scuffed walls, worn furniture, and dated fixtures. Very tiny room! Decent stay overall, but not quite up to Aloft’s usual standard."
