Aloft Harlem

"We checked in on Saturday and were supposed to check out Monday but after one night in the hotel, we decided it would be best to simply check out on Sunday afternoon. We had already paid for the extra night but didn't even think it was worth it to stay given how horribly we slept. The beds are terribly uncomfortable with the scratchiest sheets I've ever encountered. Our pillows were super flat with barely any filling inside. The air conditioner was finicky--either being too cold or too warm at the 73/74 mark causing us to have to wake up several times to adjust it and without consistent airflow. Both the picture and volume control on the television was low quality. Our safe in the room didn't work at all. And to top it all off the room was NASTY. The carpet was absolutely disgusting where I felt I couldn't walk on it without shoes. The shower was so disgusting and moldy as if it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The sliding door to our bathroom didn't work so we had to use the toilet out in the open. And finally, the elevator was so incredibly slow and it seems only one of them worked as the other was stuck on the 2nd floor the entire time."

"I had a great experience staying at Aloft Harlem. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Harlem and close to public transportation, which made getting around Manhattan easy. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the lobby had a fun, modern vibe. My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable with a great city view. I also appreciated the bar and lounge area downstairs—it was a nice place to unwind in the evening. Would definitely stay here again!"
