"Terrible experience – Dishonest hotel, stay away!\n\nWe booked a double room at this hotel months in advance for our trip to New York. Before flying, we even called to confirm our reservation, and they reassured us everything was fine, only mentioning a so-called “plumbing issue.” After doing some research, we later discovered that this “plumbing issue” is a common excuse they use frequently – many other reviews mention the exact same thing.\nAfter a 9-hour flight, we arrived at the hotel exhausted, only to be told that our reservation had been cancelled without warning. Instead of offering a proper solution, they suggested we spend four nights at a completely different hotel near JFK Airport (far from the city center) and only the last two nights at the hotel we originally booked. This was unacceptable, so we refused and requested a full refund.\nInitially, they told us the refund would be processed. But shortly after, they canceled the refund, and now they pretend we were never even there.\nWe spoke with a staff member named Vanessa multiple times by phone — and now she acts like she has no idea who we are.\nWe have proof of everything: calls, emails, and the fact that we physically went to the hotel and spoke with two staff members, including the manager.\nLuckily, we found a much better hotel after this disaster — but the way this place operates is absolutely unprofessional and dishonest. Avoid this hotel at all costs. They treat people with no respect, and it seems they have pulled this scam on several other guests as well.\nWe’ve contacted our bank and are taking legal action. If you care about your time, money, and peace of mind, do not book this hotel. Total scam."

"This hotel is a complete scam.\n\nI booked a "Double Queen Suite" on Priceline and checked in very late after working all day in the over 100-degree summer heat. When I arrived around 1:00am, the front desk attendant led me to a dingy little room literally off the lobby, with a set of bunk beds, a small bathroom, and a desk fan that barely did anything. If there was air conditioning, it was hardly functioning. The room was bare, hadn’t been swept, and had zero amenities, let alone any of the amenities explained in the listing.\n\nI immediately told the guy at the front desk this wasn’t what I booked. He claimed there was a “major plumbing issue” and that’s why I had to stay there. At nearly 1:30am, exhausted, I just accepted it. Thankfully, nobody was in the other bunk, because I purposefully booked this hotel to not have to share a room or anything.\n\nAfter looking into it, I saw other reviews mentioning the same “plumbing issue” excuse. It’s clearly a pattern they use to scam guests by either downgrading them or completely canceling their stay. I’m convinced the photos online are either stock images or heavily edited, because I don't believe rooms of that quality would be in this hotel.\n\nI received no compensation, apology, or even an offer of a discount despite paying for a much nicer room. If I had wanted something this basic, I would have paid less money and stayed in a hostel. That probably would have been a lot better.\n\nDon't be scammed by this hotel! It's not worth it."

"Fabulous location to theaters and restaurants. Warm and accommodating staff. The room left a lot to be desired. If you're looking for all the bells and whistles this is not the place. However, it is very convenient for a quick trip to the city. Not ADA compliant."
