Ten Manchester Street

"Would give it 0 stars for room and service if that was an option. Booked a room with 'large double bed' via third party site, but only allocated 'petite double' by hotel so beware if booking indirect and take a screen grab of what you book as it won't be on the confirmation and may not be honoured. 'Petite' double was smallest hotel room I've encountered. We had to boil the kettle on the floor and avoid tripping over it (tea tray hidden in wardrobe as no space for it elsewhere). No table or chairs in room so sat on floor to eat. Bathroom door semi-translucent, gap at side of door and full length mirror opposite which added to the experience! Staff polite but off-hand. Beware of 'discretionary' 4% 'service charge' you'll sign up to when you arrive and will be charged on departure. This wasn't mentioned when booking. I had to query this and the staff reluctantly agreed it was discretionary (I had to explain that meant optional not mandatory!). Was awkward end to unsatisfactory stay. Overall very disappointing and in my personal experience I've had much better stays at hotels costing a fraction of the cost in equally good locations."

"Nice hotel in convenient location. We had a terrace room which was perfect for the heatwave - cool, shaded with an outdoor seating area that we used each day.\nOur room wasn't dated, as some have described - everything looked clean & well maintained. There was a bit of a weird cigar smell - not sure if we were under the extractor too the smoking room, but really couldn't fault the hotel otherwise. And the bed was super comfy!"

"We really enjoyed our first stay at No 10 Manchester Street Hotel and will be back.\n\nWe have tried a number of hotels in London over the last few years and this one is spot on in value for money.\n\nThe staff is excellent.\n\nThere are some steep steps at the entrance, so something to consider if mobility challenged.\n\nWe have stayed in posher rooms, but again, value for money—the hotel was spot on.\n\nBus stops on Baker St easily accessible, closest Tube stops (Baker St & Bond St) each about 10 minute walk."
