DoubleTree by Hilton London Victoria

"Where do I start here? We arrived on 31 July and we got room 818 wanted higher floor as originally we got offered second floor room on the app, we booked queen standard room and when we got there we met with a big disappointment as the double bed was against the wall and the room was tiny. We went downstairs and told them we didn’t want to climb over the bed on one side. We then got room 413 which was better room as the bed wasn’t against the wall but the bathroom was so tiny with the smallest sink I have seen and there was no space to put your toiletries. At this stage we were tired and we had theatre booked and we left the e hotel. We got the text asking if there were any issues. I replied telling the person that we weren’t very happy. They told us they were fully booked today but they will give us a bigger room tomorrow and that we should pack our bag and they will transfer us to another room. Today we packed the bag and on the way out we told reception that we are ready to get the room changed and the guy at reception told us he can’t give us a bigger room as we booked standard room. We told him we were told to pack our bag as they will give us a bigger room. We argued for.a while and he then got keys to room on mezzanine floor and showed us a\nPremium duplex room which he said he can’t give us and then showed us room 726 which is same size as others but at least has a decent bathroom. We accepted the room as we were tired after changing the room three times. It’s been a very difficult and stressful situation and I would never book a standard queen room as the standard and more importantly the size of the room are a big issue. Considering we paid £220 for a room only this has been disappointing. Have taken pictures of the third and more acceptable room 726. We were told it would have cost us £25 more per night but we got it for free. After so much hassle I would have expected more than this."

"This was a perfect location to serve as our home base for our first trip to London! We had a couple of must-see things nearby, plus the Victoria tube station was an excellent connection to get us everywhere in the city. We had a room on the train station side (see picture for our view), but didn't hear a thing; the room was very well-insulated.\n\nService was excellent, friendly and responsive. The room was a fine size, with all of the amenities you'd expect from a Doubletree. The included breakfast buffet was fine, offering the usual selections: pastries, fruit, some sliced meats and cheeses, and hot items like eggs and sausage."

Our 9th-floor room was spacious, quiet (despite being in the heart of the city), and wonderfully air-conditioned—essential during the hottest weekend of the year. Great night’s sleep, high-quality bathroom products, daily bottled water, and a working fridge (perfect for M&S snacks nearby) all added to the comfort. Location was ideal with Victoria Station just steps away. Don’t miss the Market Halls—amazing views from the top bar and a brilliant way to start your trip. Would happily stay again!"
