Best Western London Ilford Hotel

"I had a great experience at *Best Western Greater London Hotel*! I really liked the conditions — everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The staff were very friendly and professional, always ready to help.\n\nFor those who don’t speak English well, there is a kind Russian-speaking lady at the reception, which made communication much easier. It’s a great place to stay, especially if you want a welcoming atmosphere and excellent service.\n\nHighly recommended!"

"Disappointing Stay – Would Not Return\n\nI stayed at this hotel last night and was quite disappointed with the experience. Upon arrival, my room had a strong sewage odor and felt extremely hot, with no air conditioning available. After raising the issue with the receptionist, I was moved to another room. While this room did not have the same unpleasant smell, it was even hotter than the first, making it very difficult to sleep comfortably.\n\nOverall, the lack of ventilation and climate control significantly impacted my stay. Additionally, the hotel’s location in Ilford did not feel particularly appealing. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not choose to stay here again."

"The good: close proximity to train station. Breakfast was decent.\nThe bad: staff was unhelpful and unfriendly, especially at checkout.\nThe ugly: Arrived and tried to check in, all cards denied, despite them holding the reservation on the card. They claimed they don’t accept tap cards or signature cards. They only take cards with PIN codes. Had to pay in cash and go to the ATMs to withdraw cash to pay. Wi-Fi didn’t work. Their guy had to come to the room, take our devices, and manually type it all in. Like really?!?! Went 2 days with no soap or shampoo, they “ran out”. Had to get our own from the local stores. “Housekeeping” dropped off towels daily, and emptied the trash. But not much else— see comment above about no shampoo for 2 days.\nThe really ugly: At check out, was told their co-worker made a mistake at check in —— and that we owed them an additional 90 pence. We literally talked to the front desk and staff every signal day. Was told they would take a card—- yeah, the same card they wouldn’t take earlier in the week. They couldn’t have mentioned their “mistake” earlier in the week? Tossed a pound at them, and didn't bother waiting round for the 10 pence change.\n\nCannot recommend this as a place to stay."
