Beautiful Rooms Near Excel Center

"Our experience at Holiday Inn Express Royal Docks was really poor.\n\nWhen we arrived, the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. We had asked for an early check-in, which they said wasn’t possible, which is fine. But even then, our room wasn’t ready until 4pm, even though check-in is supposed to be at 2pm. No apology or explanation.\n\nWe had also requested a travel cot for our room. When we got there, the cot had no mattress, just a thin sheet over the metal bars. When we asked about it, both the staff and the manager told us this is just how it’s done at Holiday Inn Express. I then proceeded to ask if they would sleep on that, and both the front desk and manager said they wouldn't as they are not a baby. I’ve never stayed in a hotel or Airbnb where they expect a baby to sleep without a proper mattress. Completely unacceptable!\n\nThere was no security latch on our door, and the shower looked like it was glued together with some sort of industrial adhesive. The air conditioning didn’t work in any of the three rooms we booked, during one of the hottest days in London. It was unbearable.\n\nOn top of all this, dirty glasses from a previous guest were left outside our room and stayed there for a long time. Housekeeping clearly missed it.\n\nOverall, this hotel did not meet even basic expectations. I won’t be staying here again and wouldn’t recommend it to others."

"Stayed two nights for the Abba Voyage concert.\nRooms were warm and very clean.\nStaff were perfect, helpful and understanding.\nI was expecting a medical telephone call at our check out time of 11am. The young lady at reception gave us a free late checkout out which was wonderful.\nBreakfast was extremely busy when we arrived at 9am.\nWould we stay here again ? A BIG YES.\nConvenient for the underground. A McDs and a Sainsbury's Local on the doorstep."

"Good value and convenient location.\nNothing flashy but it had all the essentials I needed and breakfast was good.\nParking is available for a fee but the price was reasonable for London.\nI would happily stay here again."
