56 Surawong Hotel Bangkok

"My friends and I booked 3 rooms (14th to 18th of May)in this hotel thru on line booking. Having stayed for 5 days, we concluded that this hotel deserved a 5 star status! We do not understand all the fuss and negative reviews here, perhaps they slept on the wrong side of the bed! The rooms are well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The location of this hotel is right in the centre of "everything" you need. What made our stay more memorable and enjoyable is the Front Desk staff, especially Ms. Nun. Right from the moment of check in till the day of departure, she has been most helpful and kind. Her level professionalism and courtesy are just amazing. She is the ambassador of this hotel! Hope her Superior, the Front Desk Manager and the hotel management will take good care of her. We would like to extend our appreciation to the Front Desk Manager and his team for such a wonderful stay. We will definitely come back and stay in our favourite hotel in Bangkok!! We will recommend this hotel to our friends. Keep up the great job and see you real soon."

"Disappointment with the service.\nI chose your hotel because of its convenient location, but my experience with the staff made me uncomfortable and disrespected.\n\n1. Check-in (15:00, March 22)\n\nThe front desk staff (a man) gave me clear information, which I appreciated, but his tone, body language, and attitude made me feel awkward.\nWhen showing me the key card, I misunderstood and tried to take it, but he pulled it back and said, "เดี๋ยวก่อนสิ ยังไม่ได้สแกนเลย มันต้องสแกนเลขห้องก่อนถึงจะขึ้นได้." the way he said it felt rude.\n\n2. Lobby (16:15, March 22)\n\nWhen I dropped off my key card, the same staff member was holding the phone showing something to another guest. Instead of acknowledging me politely, he just glanced at me and turned back like I was invisible and told another staff member to assist me\n\n3. Security Guard (16:20, March 22)\n\nI called a Grab car and tried to inform the security guard. He ignored me completely.\nAfter finishing his paperwork, he finally turned to me with an unwelcoming expression and said, "Need to receive the card." I didn’t know the procedure, so I apologized, but his reaction made me feel disrespected.\n\nI understand this is a budget hotel, but that does not excuse poor service. I paid 1,400 THB for my stay—I was not expecting luxury, just basic courtesy and respect.\n\nI also did not know this area is popular for entertainment tourism. As a solo female traveler, I felt that staff judged me unfairly based on appearance.\n\nThis experience left me very disappointed. I hope you will address these issues and ensure that all guests are treated with respect in the future. No need to terminate anyone but please respect the guests."
