Hotel Madrid Centro Affiliated by Meliá

"I’m giving this hotel 2 stars only because of its location and the good service at the front desk. Everything else was disappointing.\n\nThe rooms were in very poor condition. There was constant, loud noise — you could hear everything from outside, from people talking in other rooms, from fights, and even kids running around in the hallways. The room wasn’t properly cleaned; you could see dust in several places, and the lighting was very poor. The bathroom was small and not clean, and the window curtains were broken. There was no minibar service in the room.\n\nAnother issue was the elevators: the entire building only had two, they were small, and I would say they were in poor condition, clearly old. The elevator doors slammed extremely loudly every time someone used them, and you could hear it all the way from the room.\n\nThe mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. Honestly, the only thing that made the stay somewhat worth it was the location — it’s right in the center of Madrid on Gran Vía, making it easy to walk or take the metro or bus to other places.\n\nI was honestly quite disappointed, especially considering the price per night. I expected a little more, particularly because it’s a Meliá hotel."

"An experience below expectations.\nWe arrived at this hotel after midnight.After a long journey, you expect at least a smile or a warm welcome at the reception, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The receptionist was completely cold and impersonal, to the point where it felt like he was doing us a favor. This is not what you’d expect from a Melia hotel, especially given the price paid.\nThe room was decent, but there was a major issue: it wasn’t possible to adjust the temperature. It was extremely hot, and every time we got dressed to go out, we ended up sweating just from putting on our coats. It seemed that the heating system wasn’t adjustable at all, and this made the overall experience less enjoyable.\nAnother negative experience was when we asked for a simple favor: a bowl of hot water to warm up food for our baby. The receptionist told us, “Yes, we’ll bring it to your room right away,” but we ended up waiting for over half an hour. As it was dinnertime, our baby couldn’t wait that long, especially since we had our day carefully planned. We even had to go down to the reception to remind them, and even then, we were told, “We’re bringing it now.” Eventually, it arrived much later than expected, and no one even apologized for the delay.\nOverall, a stay that didn’t meet the standards of a Melia hotel.”"

"Very good location, in the centre of shops, hotels, restaurant n attractions. All at walkable distance.\nRooms are spacious, ample storage and comfortable bed.\nThey clean the room daily. Good spread of breakfast. Lacks choice for vegetarian..but manageable.\nOnly two negatives I saw, 1) room lighting, very dull n inadequate 2) hot water takes long time to come in the taps. Mostly u get only cold. In showers it's OK."
