"The hostel is in a great location, everything is in walking distance. There are a lot and great places nearby for food and drinks. It's not in the fully touristic area so it is great and without so much noise around. The entrance hall smelled clean when we entered. The room was ok, we stayed in a private one with its own bathroom. The bed was comfortable for two people. The bathroom looked a bit old but it was clean. They provide towels, some soap and shampoo. The hair dryer was powerful enough, not the classic hotel one. They were entering everyday to clean and bring fresh towels. The only issue is that there is a handle on the outside of the door as well so you need to make sure that you lock it. One day after we returned from our walk the door was unlocked. Meaning someone entered to clean and forgot to lock it again. It was just one time out of the five days we stayed there, so nothing serious happened. The TV was brand new and had access to YouTube and netflix. All in all it was a great experience and the building had a character which we liked. The room was definitely clean and comfortable for our stay."

"This is a 2 star hostal in a pretty good location, close the train station in Madrid. Plain and simple.\nLate arrival was fine as we were met by the night manager, who greeted us with pleasant manner and limited to no English.\n\nAfter we had navigated the circa 1928 single elevator, with busted-arse doors which required banging shut in multiple combinations to make the lift work.\nUp the to room, Door opens and two single beds in a twin room greets our travel weary faces. Our faces drop a little, but it’s clean and neat albeit small. The aircon set at comfortable 24 degrees.\n\nDeadly Slippery bathroom floor when wet, added to the hilarity of having to do Warrior Pose then One legged Crane Pose to get past the shower screen door, bolted onto the bathtub, to have a shower.\n\nOnce in the shower, the amusement was further exacerbated by the mixer tap being at knee height on the side of the bath, so that every time you turned around the water went from comfortably mixed, to freezing cold suddenly, or skin scorching hot as you bump the mixer tap.\nMaking you hop around the bath and nearly slip to your death!\n\nOh and the bathroom so tiny they don’t actually hang the loo roll, they place it conveniently in the cupboard above the cistern, so that you have to contort in some praying mantis back bend to get to the paper.\n\nFinally climbed into the single bed.\nWhich was marginally better than a camp bunk!\nSlept a solid 1.3 hours due to subconsciously waking up each time I moved or attempted to roll over as too afraid to topple onto the floor.\n\nIn the morning, attempted to open the window, which was bolted shut, and basically siezed that way since 1970!\nThe small crack of daylight revealed a clothes line and inside courtyard of the next building.\n\nIf you are looking for somewhat cheap and cheerful, this place meets the brief."
