"⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Stay – Not Worth 3 Stars\n\nI booked this hotel through American Airlines Hotels and chose it because it was listed as a 3-star property on all platforms, including their own website. Unfortunately, the reality did not match the rating at all. The exterior wall facing the street is faded and neglected, making a bad first impression. Inside, the hotel is outdated, and in serious need of renovation. It lacks the cleanliness, attention to detail, and service: The receptionist barely acknowledged us on arrival, continuing with his work without even offering a greeting or assistance. It felt like guests were an inconvenience rather than a priority.\n\nMy biggest issue was the broken bed, which made it impossible to sleep. I asked to change the mattress, but was told there was "no other mattresses" and no attempt was made to help, change rooms or even apologize. Absolutely nothing was done! They never replied to my email before my stay, it was a very critical change I needed to make to make my vacation unforgettable but they just ignored my email!\n\nThe bathroom was equally disappointing, it has an old tub with cracked caulking and a. $1 plastic shower curtain made it an unpleasant place to shower. The toiletries were minimal, just tiny sachets, which falls short of what a true 3-star hotel should provide.\n\nThe only positive is the location — just one block from Gran Vía.\n\nThis hotel needs urgent upgrades, maintenance, and staff training. It’s nowhere near 3-star quality. I do not recommend it at all."

"Great little hotel in the middle of Gran Vía. It’s definitely old-school — the rooms and furniture are straight out of the 90s — but everything was clean and well-kept.\n\nThe best part? The staff. Super friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything.\n\nDon’t expect luxury or modern design, but for the price and location, it’s a total win. Would happily stay here again."

"Three stars must have been awarded in 1998 because the hotel has clearly seen no maintenance since then.\nThe only saving grace is the proximity to Gran Via and the shops although get ready to not be able to sleep until 3am due the constant noise from both inside and outside the hotel.\nIt’s fine if you’re out partying and want a cheap place to rest your head for about 3 hours but it’s not family friendly at all.\nOur first room had a dirty bathroom and uncomfortable beds and after complaining and being given a second room we were met with only one light working in the bathroom and the same uncomfortable beds.\nThe staff were accommodating although they could not help the poor state of the hotel."
