Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside

"Not sure why it was showing not posted. This is my genuine experience.\n\nTo start with the good stuffs, some of the staffs are very helpful and accommodating. Nearby La Place restaurant and breakfast place is very good. They have given us a voucher as a goodwill gesture as there are some renovations happening. Renovated rooms are good except lack of some facilities (Phone, Towel rack, Soap tray all missing). Rooms were in ground floor and the views from our rooms were amazing. They have got a big TV, connected to internet where you can play Youtube and other streaming app. Technological upgrade of this hotel is very good.\n\nThis place is getting a face lift from Golden Tulip to Gr8 Hotels. We weren't informed about this change at all as we booked for Golden Tulip through booking.com. Part of the corridor and rooms were ripped for renovation which will give you a not so comfortable feel walking through this area. There was fresh paint smell in the corridors and it makes me nauseated but we didn't want to ruin our stay with complaints. As per our hotel booking confirmation, check out time was mentioned as 12:00 noon (because we booked for Golden Tulip). However our doors started getting bangs from 11:20 am and a lady asked us to check out immediately as their check out is 11:00 am. Nobody ever mentioned us that the check out is 11:00am even during check in. When asked about this, reply of the lady was "I didn't check you in", "You booked for the old hotel" and "We are gr8 hotel now, your booking is old". Anyway she was not helpful and rude and an entire otherwise good stay got bit ruined by the attitude of one staff. One improvement I could suggest is having some towel rod, cloth hooks and soap trays in shower room. We really struggled to keep these items during a shower. It is a good fifteen to twenty minute walk from nearby Metro station. It is okay if you intend to travel once out and once in. But if you plan more walks than that, it is a bit let down. There is no public transport nearby apart from this station.\n\nI hope once the renovation is complete, this place will be worth the money we pay, however if they have at least one staff who can put off a stay of three night, they will struggle to keep up. They need to understand they are under renovation and there will be some people with old booking coming in (and the hotel didn't do due diligence of informing customers about this change) and there will be communication gaps. They need to be flexible at least till this transformation is over."

"The only bad thing personally for me was the bed that was a little soft, I'm used to a harder mattress. Although I slept really good. Every day clean towels and a great big shower. The room seems to be renewed. I heard the part where I was, was build new recently. The whole hotel got an upgrade and its really cosy actually. Due to the virus eating wasn't possible in the La Place restaurant. But every morning I got a delicious breakfast package! You can eat close by. Plenty of restaurants!\nThere was a hostess named Ellen and she made our stay even better! Thank you Ellen for being so nice and caring!"

"The hotel is quiet, organized, and the staff is nice. Breakfast table was diverse and delicious, so many options.\nThe view from the room was so beautiful, however, the bed was not the best as there were two single beds put togethet instead one one double bed; the reservation clearly said "double bed". Room service did not clean the room, just made the bed, neither did they change the towels. Location is not the best to choose for a hotel; walking to the nearest transport point is 15 minutes at least. I would recommend it if you have a car or are a fan of walking with your luggage for ariund 1.3 km."
