"We booked the „Cozy Room“ in Adam‘s Canal House (previously „The Sixteen“) for a weekend trip to Amsterdam‘s heart. Once in Central station, the hotel is a 10-15 min walk away and very easy to find.\n\nCheck-In happens via screen and is super easy, too. You get the keys to your room right away, and then the fun part begins: the ascent.\n\nNow, if you travel with movement challenged or impaired people, do not book this hotel. The staircase is more like a ladder, steep and narrow. It’s not uncommon in Amsterdam, so not the hotel‘s fault, just be prepared to climb to your room.\n\nOnce there, we found a nice room with a double bed, countertop with coffee machine, a fridge (that barely worked), a smart TV (that needed some fidgeting to work, but it did!) and a wardrobe for two.\n\nThe bathroom was okay with an open shower and a tub with jacuzzi features, water pressure is around average, though - typical issue in the city, so do not freak out. However, water temperature and the direction of the fixed shower head were a bummer that, once redone, could make a huge difference in your sanitary experience here.\n\nAlso, room service was ghostly and hardly noticeable - our overflowing trash was left behind, used towels were folded and put back in the bathroom (we also got a new set, though), the carpet floor wasn’t vacuumed once in 4 days, bed sheets were never replaced, and our coffee cups from day 2 spent the rest of our stay drying up on the countertop - well, at least I had my goodbye coffee in a wine glass like a fancy dandy.\n\nThe biggest issue here was the bed, or nighttime, though. Heating seemed random, either too hot or cold, the blanket was one (!) extra huge and thick down duvet, so our sleep was interrupted regularly by shivering or heavy sweating - no in-betweens here. Also, the pillows provided were sturdy throw pillows rather than actual bolsters which added to the discomfort at night.\n\nSince the hotel is perfectly located, it might still be an okay choice for a first trip to Amsterdam - all you need and want to explore is around the corner! Also, do visit the Schreierstoren café about 20 meters from the hotel, it’s a great place for breakfast and brunch.\nHowever, if this isn’t your first time around, just check for a small apartment or private room and you’ll be happier with your experience!\n\nDon’t get me wrong, this is not a horrible experience! But for € 700/4 days it does feel a bit like a rip-off …"

"Great location, lovely traditional building but that tradition comes with its own challenges. Rooms are specious, beds are comfortable and in general, location is quite quiet.\n\nHOWEVER, if you have a room on the upper floors, be advised the stair case is extremely steep and spiral which makes carrying luggage upstairs a real workout.\n\nWifi connection is patchy which was challenging since here on business. TV offer only Netflix or Freeveiw and system says either "pin code needed" or "tune channels".\n\nHologram concierge is a nice idea but not sure if truly effective. Colleague raised 3 issues with them and received no response to any concenn."

"I recently stayed at The Sixteen Hotel in Amsterdam and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, neat, and spacious, with plenty of room to relax. The smart TV was a nice touch, making it easy to unwind with some entertainment after a day of exploring the city.\n\nThe bathroom was large and spotless, providing a comfortable and pleasant experience. The hotel's attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness truly stood out.\n\nMy only minor complaint was that I could occasionally hear people going up and down the stairs. However, this did not significantly detract from my overall experience.\n\nOverall, The Sixteen Hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Amsterdam. Highly recommended!"
