The Hoxton Amsterdam

"Perfect location. Great Room (Roomy with a king bed). Great service. Had a room with a canal view. (Was over the bar so could be noisy in the evening). Would stay here again."

"Hotel is based in a really lovely location- very central, easy to walk everywhere. I liked the rooms - quite modern but functional and ideal for a 2-3 days stay. There is not much space to put your things- the luggage ideally goes under the bed and clothes rack is small but perfect for a quick break or a business trip.\nMy room faced the courtyard and, somehow, there were mosquitos in it- my colleagues room that faced the canals did not have such a problem.\nThe aircon set up was very low- about 19C which made it really cold when entering each day - not sure if this is needed - seemed to me like a waste of energy.\nThe receptionist are very nice and helpful - helped me with my parcel that was delivered late.\nThe big downside was the service at the breakfast - even though it was never busy, it was slow and disorganized. The waiters seemed confused and untrained- we wanted to pay together for the breakfast but some of us had the breakfasts included. It took the waiter 3 trips to sort it out - initially he had not even taken our room numbers.\nIt was also difficult to get the attention of the waiters when wanting to pay the bill - always seemed to look somewhere else other than the guests.\nBreakfast options were ok - I enjoyed the avocado and poached eggs but scrambled eggs had no taste."

"We just returned to NYC after a 2 week trip across Europe, with Amsterdam being one of our longer stops. The Hoxton is a trendy hotel in a great location. Everyone who works here seems happy to be there, which made our stay quite nice! I had emailed the hotel beforehand to see if there were any upgrades available since I would be proposing. The customer service I received was excellent and I'm really happy we were able to stay in one of the Biggie Canal View rooms - it was beautiful! I do remember the room being a bit hot, but we had expected that in Europe. Highly recommend this hotel!"
