S&A Vondel Park Hotel

"The hotel is okay for a short stay. The rooms are tiny but the twin sized bed was so comfortable. I really wanna know what kind of comforters and pillows they use because it was really cozy. The bathroom was tiny but good water pressure and heat. The only thing is that there’s no ventilation in the bathroom, so I always showered with the windows open which let in a few flies and other bugs but they didn’t really cause too many issues. I think the front desk staff were nice but this is a very low-service hotel (meaning that they really don’t do anything for guests, if you need extra towels, tissues, etc. you can go to the cabinet in the lobby and help yourself to more + there’s no housekeeping unless requested + no bellman to help with bags). So, depending on what you’re looking for, this hotel may or may not be for you. It’s super chill though and an easy stay and very well located which makes it easy to walk to everything. The only other thing is that the walls are thin, so you can hear the people in other rooms, but this didn’t bother me. I would only stay here again if I couldn’t afford somewhere better (hence why I stayed here this time lol). Overall, the stay was fine but nothing to write home about lol."

"Although the location was perfect for what we needed, the rooms leaves a lot to be desired. I don't believe that this is the fault of the staff or hotel team, but rather the Sonder brand. Not having an ice machine or refrigerator was a slight inconvenience, however the room was the biggest disappointment. Upon walking in, the room was dark, due to their only being one small window with a view of a dark alleyway. The walls are covered in scuff marks and stains, which made me question the overall cleanliness of the room.\nThe front desk agents were kind and courteous though!"

"Decent hostelesque hotel. Minimal room space and definitely a dated building. No food on site. But staff was friendly and helpful and gorgeous outdoor spaces. Good location.\n\nRooms have good temp controls. Opened the windows for fresh air and ended up with several intense mosquito bites."
