Hotel Mosaic City Centre

"Disappointing, Very Basic and Poorly Maintained\n\nWe stayed here a couple of nights as a family. Since it’s Amsterdam and everything is expensive, we expected to lower our standards a bit for something more affordable but this was still a disappointment.\n\nThe hotel is very cheap in quality. The bathrooms were a wreck; tiny, musty, and poorly designed. Ours had no shower curtain, so water sprayed all over the bathroom every time someone showered. There’s no ventilation, so everything stays damp and smells musty. When sitting on the toilet, the sink is practically in your lap, and our sink was actually broken when we arrived, water just poured out the bottom. The front desk staff seemed confused about why we needed it fixed and couldn’t even locate our room, even after we gave the number. Thankfully, once the maintenance man was finally called, he was friendly and competent.\n\nWe heard that some of the lower floors had been updated, but even there the furniture was scratched and worn, with cheap, thin linens. The doors are heavy and awkward, tough for kids to manage and they beep loudly every time they open and close, which gets really annoying.\n\nOverall, even considering the Amsterdam prices, this hotel fell short of basic expectations. Would not recommend for families."

"Really appreciated how accommodating the staff were...we had an issue with the lock, and they upgraded us to a bigger room with a balcony, which was a great surprise. The beds were a bit too soft for my taste, but the location was super convenient with a tram stop just 2 minutes away. Overall a solid stay!"

"We booked a room via Booking.com with a late check-in time around 1:00-2:00 AM. While we fully acknowledge that there was a mistake on our side regarding the timing, the way we were treated by the hotel staff was completely unacceptable.\nThe person at the reception (unfortunately we don't know his name, but he appeared to be of African origin) was extremely rude, unhelpful, and aggressive. Instead of calmly explaining the situation or trying to assist us, he raised his voice, insulted us, and even threatened me personally, saying "let's go outside and settle this" — which is totally inappropriate and unprofessional for someone working in hospitality.\nThis experience not only ruined our night but also made us feel unsafe and unwelcome. I strongly urge the hotel management to train their staff on basic communication, customer service, and how to de-escalate situations - not make them worse.\nWe will definitely not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone expecting even a minimum level of respect and professionalism."
