"I stayed in this hotel on a work trip, arriving late after the event. The staff were friendly and helpful, checking me in and advising me where to go for a nightcap. There is a lovely pub right round the corner and it is a quiet and safe walk. This isn't a touristy area and it felt like really living in Amsterdam.\nThe location is fabulous, central but quiet, with a beautiful view over a canal.\nThe hotel retains a lot of period charm. I paid for a deluxe room and was pleasantly surprised with a comfortable bed and great view.\nThe building is old so there is a little noise but ear plugs were thoughtfully provided and I popped them in and had a great sleep.\nBreakfast was delicious, and there was a lot of it.\nI can honestly say I don't think you get better value for money in Amsterdam. I will definitely be staying again."

"While this cute little hotel is nestled in an idyllic area of Amsterdam, and within walking distance of some local attractions, it’s best to go in with eyes wide open. I booked for a work trip with a single bed and the reception was great. I had some massive luggage and there are no lifts, but fortunately was on the first floor of rooms (which still required navigating up some narrow stairs). When I walked into the room however, I laughed … it was the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in … and I’ve stayed in small rooms in Sweden and the UK! The bed was fine, but the bathroom was so tiny that I had to open the shower doors to be able to sit on the toilet. It was the smallest bathroom ever. But the shower was reasonable by comparison. All in all, it was a cute room … window looked out to the canal and the ceilings were high, but TV bed and bathroom were very small and only big enough for one person. Might recommend this for backpackers or one person with little luggage. Also noted, the walls are really thin and you can hear everything next door, but they provide earplugs and generally all went quiet by 11pm."

"it was a decent hotel with a decent size room. it's not too close to all the attractions but it's not terribly far either. I enjoyed my stay because it was my first time in amsterdam, but to be honest there are probably better places to book."
