"I don’t know how to thank the staff for providing us early check in & treating us in the best possible manner. We reached hotel at 8 am and check in was at 3 pm. We were heck tired from our overnight bus journey & on our request they readily got the room prepared by 10:30. THEY HAVE THE BEST STAFF MEMBERS.\nLocation is great & super accessible if you walk around & explore.\nBEST BREAKFAST on our entire tour. They serve you the best pancakes. Even the cafe ones won’t even taste near to it. Fruits, breads, salads- literally everything was amazing & our experience is just beyond words. It’s taste is even better than Hyatt. Trust me.\nHad great great experience not just in hotel & staff but also in Amsterdam city. Just fell in love with it!\nHIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

"We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express City Hall in Amsterdam for three nights. The front office staff was friendly and did their best, which we appreciated. However, internal communication was very poor. On the evening of our arrival, we requested a paid upgrade for the following day. The night shift said it wouldn’t be a problem and promised to pass the information on to the morning team. The next morning, the early shift had no knowledge of it. When we returned in the afternoon, the evening staff was again unaware, and the whole process had to start over. Communication is key – and it was clearly lacking here.\n\nThe biggest issue, in our opinion, was cleanliness. There were blood stains on the duvet – it was replaced immediately, but this should never happen in the first place. We also found clumps of hair in the bathroom.\n\nThe furniture in both the room and the lobby was worn and appeared not to have been cleaned properly in quite some time.\nAdditionally, there was about a one-centimeter gap between our room door and the floor, so light from the hallway shone into the room at night, and every sound from the hallway was clearly audible.\n\nOverall, the hotel has potential, and the staff is well-meaning, but they appear poorly trained. To us, this points to a failure of management."

"The holiday inn express has everything you need. The location is good, an easy walk from Centraal station but if you have big cases might be slow going. The hotel itself is nice and clean. Service has been excellent. Came back from a day out and had not had a service in the room they knocked at 6pm which was odd but not a huge deal."
