Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Arena Towers by IHG

"The place is very beautiful and has different rooms that suit all tastes. However, the problem I faced at this hotel was the treatment at the reception. I experienced a great deal of disrespect. The lady working there did not respect us as guests at all, even though we had just arrived and hadn’t done anything wrong. She didn’t help us with the issue we were facing, unlike her colleague who was very kind and friendly with us.\n\nAs for this first lady, her behavior towards us was extremely bad, and I’m still wondering if it was because of the hijab or not. There were other guests before and after us, and she treated them very well. She didn’t help us at all and made our issue much more complicated. We faced a huge amount of disrespect, to the point where she told us: either cancel your booking with no refund at all or pay for a new room. I told her that this was not suitable for us or for our booking choice, and her response was: “I’m not willing to repeat myself.” I told her that Holiday Inn’s policy isn’t like that and I have read it myself, and she replied again: “I won’t repeat myself. I already told you a while ago, I won’t repeat myself!”\n\nDo you think this behavior is appropriate for a hotel like this? In all the hotels I have visited, the reception staff always try to help you and find a solution to your problem to keep you as a customer. Honestly, we were planning to extend our stay but canceled because of this treatment. There is no place worth staying in if you are going to receive such treatment.\n\nHowever, her colleague, I think her name was Esraa, came, spoke to us kindly, and helped us find a solution that suited us and the hotel’s policies, unlike what the first employee claimed – that there was absolutely no solution. Esraa made everything easier for us, and we really appreciate that. With her, everything was smooth and fast, and we got our rooms quickly and easily, unlike the first lady who complicated everything as if she didn’t want us there.\n\nI would also like to thank Mr. Luqman. He treated us in the best way possible, apologized to us, and truly compensated for the bad treatment we had received. We really appreciate him for that.\n\nI hope this issue is looked into. A hotel like this should have staff who respect everyone equally. Thank you."

"Overall didn't like staff's behaviour as they were quite rigid. The hotel lacked basic amenities like dental kits, toiletries etc. It was very hot in the room and the AC wasn't functioning well. At the reception they told us that the only solution they had was to provide us with a fan, 2 days later , the fan was still not provided. When asked for coffee mugs/ glasses which is basic in any hotel that we have stayed in , we were told to go to the restaurant to collect it . I understand that the hotel may not have room service , but the behaviour of the staff and the tone in which they spoke , was way below standards. We have stayed in holiday inn across countries but this was the worst experience by far.\nPlease review properly before booking."

"Great place with amazing view, loved the coupons for the greener stay in exchange for room service. The breakfast had everything I needed and more with fresh bread and fruits. The food in the bar/restaurant was also super good! The only minus was the expensive parking 30$ for the night."
