Ueno Sofitel Tokyo

"Spacious, clean, and family-friendly — with a great view of Ueno Park!\nWe stayed in a family room with an amazing view over Ueno Park — a rare bonus in Tokyo. The beds were comfortable, the room quiet and well-equipped, and perfect for a family.\nHousekeeping is every few days, but towels can be changed more frequently — a smart and balanced approach.\nNice shared spaces and a relaxed atmosphere.\nOn the ground floor, you can grab a good coffee and light breakfast (bagels, etc.) — very convenient.\nExcellent location close to Ueno Station, shops, and local eateries.\nThe staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.\nDefinitely recommended!"

"I regret that I didn't try the public bath until the end of our stay, because the views were absolutely incredible. I would give higher than 5 stars due to those views alone. The hotel itself is in a prime location to Ueno Park, and it made cherry blossom viewing very easy for us. The 10-minute walk to the nearest station is alright, and the only complaint there is that Nakamachi-dori Street behind the hotel, and the roads in that area behind the hotel, can be a little sketchy at night. Nothing to be afraid of in terms of safety, but it does give more of a "red light district" vibe once the sun goes down. You can easily avoid this though by sticking to the main road, Shinobazu-dori Ave. We stayed in the twin room, and our room was great with amble space to fit two large suitcases and two large backpacks. We were big fans of the way the hotel was set up with the "interior" courtyard, and I loved the open-air feeling. The breakfast bento boxes each morning were also great, and the cafe in general had a very good quality. There were plenty of laundry machines and dryers, and we never had an issue where at least one wasn't available for us to use. Overall, we absolutely plan on staying here again the next time we come to Japan and plan on visiting Ueno!"

"I enjoyed this hotel. Very convenient location near multiple train/metro stations and right across the street from Ueno Park. The rooms were a pretty good size for Tokyo standards and the beds were comfortable. I loved the open air bath and went every day. There is also a cafe with a small food and drink menu.\n\nIt seems the prices have gone up since we stayed last fall, but I would still stay here again."
