"Not too shabby for the price. Good if you want to stumble home from Ikebukuro, one of Tokyo's smaller but still very nice nightlife districts. The neighburhood is a bit dodgy - tell older Japanese people you are staying at "west side ikebukuro" and they will become worried. But this image is mostly because of how things used to be. I don't think I'd want to walk home at night alone if I was a woman, though. I tried doing some night photography in the area once and there were plenty of dodgy people - and far too many nooks with little foot traffic.\n\nIkebukuro is a nice place with tonnes of restraurants and cafes, with good connectivity to the rest of the city. You can walk into Ikebukuro from here in the morning, have a quick bite at one of the cafes, and then easily travel where you want to be. If you are price sensitive, this is a great compromise to a more central hotel. There are also loads of nice cafes north from the hotel if you want to walk around and explore the neighburhood.\n\nRoom is above average for a place like this, and plenty spacious. The "no-contact" checkin method seems a bit unreliable and in our case we didn't receive the e-mail we were supposed to, so I don't think this is a reliable place to check in if you arrive late - we had to call. However, if you are worried about this, you can always contact in advance to make sure you have the necessary info.\n\nIf you like trains, this hotel is right next to a train yard."

"although it may be next to the train tracks, it isn't actually audible inside, and I stayed in the room closest to the tracks!\n\nthe only issue was that the room was not ready before the check in time, this was an inconvenience as we had already been waiting around the city with our luggage."

"The venue is located in Toshima City, Ikebukuro district. It is 1.5km walking distance from what we call Ikebukuro centre. The room we stayed in was for 2 people. 2 separate beds. It is called Tatami style, but what we call a bed is a sunbed pillow. Most of the things stated in Airbnb are provided by the room, but if you need extra items such as pillows, duvets, detergents, etc. Their turnaround time is long and they say it is not in inventory. In general, do not have too high expectations. There is hot water. There are kitchen supplies. There is a washing machine outside but I haven't used it yet. There is no place to dry the laundry. Since the rooms are very small, sometimes the smell can come from the bathroom drain. If it is a big place, it may not be felt, but if it is a small place, it can be very disturbing. If you have a need, complaint, etc. at the facility. If it happens, there is no one to contact. You can only connect to Airbnb, which is mine, through the application you purchased. Here's what it reads. As I said, the return is not quick. Even if it is, there is no guarantee that it will meet your demands. We requested 2 extra pillows. They said it was not in inventory. All the spare furnishings are not unnoticeable in their small warehouse at the entrance. When we wrote that we would contact Airbnb, 2 extra pillows arrived only on the 3rd day. What can I say? Thank you.\nThere is no problem with drinks. There are 4 vending machines outside. The most expensive drink is 150 yen. You have to walk 1.5km to get food or snacks. 7/11, picos, family etc. There are many supermarkets and restaurants, cafes and bakeries within this distance.\nApproximately 2.5km from the east entrance of Metro Ikebukuro. These are walking distance 😄 It is 3-4 stops away from here to the most famous Shinjuku and Shibuyu. One ticket costs about 170 yen.\nDespite everything, it is nice and enjoyable to be in Tokyo and Ikebukuro. I hope you enjoy it too. 🙂🙂👍"
