Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower

"We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very convenient to the train stations. There are a couple of train stations within walking distance. There are also plenty of restaurants on site. Rooms are clean and spacious. The common areas are very clean and all the staff is friendly. Beautiful outdoor gardens. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The Garden Lobby breakfast buffet is ~5100 yen per person and not worth the price. It offers an incredibly basic Western spread— eggs, ham, cheese, salad, yogurt, fruit, pastries, juice. The garden view is supposed to be a highlight, but I wasn’t seated near the windows. Rooms are spacious with good city view, but felt old. You’re mostly paying for the hotel’s ambiance and service, which I don’t really care for."

"SCAM WARNING!! My family and I went to this hotel and stayed for four days. Throughout the hotel there were signs advertising a "Sky Bar"\nFinally, we went to have a drink and wanted to sit near the window with the nice view. The staff told us that only people who buy the buffet can sit near the window.. we just had dinner (but we really wanted to see the view) so we said, "we will get the buffet."\nI was extremely disappointed that they failed to tell us the price for the buffet was over 100 dollars (15,000 yen).\nWe helped ourselves to a few pieces of cake and waited for our waiter to come back to ask for drinks. The waiter never came back, and we had to get up to ask someone to take our order, we felt very neglected.\nWe felt ignored, and confused why we had such poor treatment. We simply wanted to look out at a nice view and enjoy some drinks.\nWe waited with empty drinks for about an hour, until I stood up to go ask a staff member if we could pay. She came back, and asked what we had, and we gave her our credit cards.\nBefore even realizing how extremely expensive the buffet was, (since she did not print out our checks) we were charged with over 15,000 yen each. All we had was one drink each and a few pieces of cake.\nThroughout the hotel, it says "SKY BAR" and it advertised as so. But if it wasn't a scam, they should have "SKY BUFFET" and also let people know the price of the buffet if they simply wanted to change tables, so they can have drinks near a window. Absolutely disgusting. Had we known, we would not have switched tables, and we probably would have had drinks elsewhere. It was very misleading and cruel. The pictures are signs I saw inside the hotel, advertising for sky "BAR" (not buffet)\n\nsky bar? more like sky SCAM"
