APA Hotel Shinjuku Gyoemmae

"If you're here for a few days, this hotel is great, especially given the price. The rooms are small but clean, and the staff were friendly enough. If you're here longer than a few days, you may want to try somewhere else. It would have been nice to have somewhere to sit other than our bed, even if it was in the lobby. The elevator is also unbelievably slow -- if you're on the upper floors, give yourself at least 10 minutes to get to the lobby. Location is great!"

"We stayed at this APA hotell for 8 days in april. First i have to say that the check-in was brief and unhelpfull. We were told to just read any information in the room after scanning the passport and checking in ourselfs. This with 5 people not doing anything actively at the lobby counter.\n\nWhen entering the room we all know the rooms are small thats not an issue however they do tell you to store your luggage under the bed. When i proceeded to try to store my luggage under the bed i noticed there was food bits and crumbles in the carpet all under the bed. Does not seem clean at all, and if you see the cleaners they use a extended adhesive roller (the ones you use to remove pet/animal hair from your clothes) to clean the carpets and not a vacum. The bed and bathroom were both clean and completely ok.\n\nMy next point is that to use the refrigerator you need to turn on the power with a switch that will glow orange next to your head all night.\nIf you are two in the type of room we rented then one of you at the edge of the bed will sadly have the light from the door peakhole (also this peakhole has no cover so you cant block it unless you buy tape or something yourself)\n\nMy last remark as someone who was on vacation they have a forced cleaning policy every 3 days they will enter your room no matter what and clean. And if you dont have this in mind when you plan your days it can get quite stressfull. Also we left at 8 from the hotell and returned after 14 exhausted to find that the room had not been cleaned and were then thrown out 5 minutes later by the cleaners.\n\nLastly the breakfast if you intend to get it is lackluster and small, not a lot of alternatives i rather just buy some fruit at a convini and go to yoshinoya to get a balanced breakfast for less money.\n\nThere wasnt anything extremely bad but also there wasnt anything extremely good about this stay, so i cant really justify the price it has when comparing to other hotels."
