"Let me start this by saying I am a travelling 30 something that has stayed in motels, hotels, hostels, you name it. So I am not coming in with a standard of luxury. My standard is just comfort for what I pay.\n\nWalking into the room the first night was a disaster. Re: the pictures I posted. The air con knob was gone, when I turned it on (or what was left of the stub) it just throws air around and sounds like it's about to break. wallpaper is peeling, and I went to sit down on the mattress and it is 2 inches thick and like 50 years old. I feel a spring in my butt as I write this.\n\nI went to take a shower and the drain wasn't draining. Had to end it early so there wasn't a flood that started in the bathroom. The plus side was when my boyfriend went to shower after me he didn't have to worry about flooding as his hot water ran out, and at the same time the water pressure, so I guess that's a win?\n\nI mean it can't be all bad right? Let's go through the positives.\n\nLots of fluffy comfy towels, plenty of pillows, and the cleaning staff does a good job.\n\nThere is a rooftop terrace to see the skyline. We were able to experience this at the free breakfast. But both positives became negatives when we were unable to access the terrace for a sunset view because "children are in the hotel" and they had to keep it locked. lol. Jokes. Standing at the locked door to the outside watching the people at the hotel accross from us enjoying their rooftop sunset view probably paying less than what I did.\n\nAlso the free breakfast wasn't bad, but the first morning the coffee machine ran out of water, which I was told by the waiter. And it was never refilled... so there was a number of us asking for coffee and being told "there is no water" period. ???\n\nThe room and hotel looked so old and dated I googled some info about it. The website is so misleading, saying it is "recently renovated" and goes on about luxury. Maybe in 1988, but not now.\n\nThe hotel is weathered and no one cares to fix it. My hunch is the 5 star reviews are for possibly renovated rooms in the hotel (like 2-3) that are given to some guests, or they are bots.\n\nGordon Ramsey if you are reading this I found you a place to be on your next season of "hotel hell"."

"Do not book here! Rooms not as advertised online. Checked in late as our train was delayed getting into room. Room was 28 degrees Celsius when we got in, air conditioning in the room was not working. Asked the front desk and he simply said “air is off until June.” We had the window open but we were on the ground level and there was a restaurant open directly outside our window, not conducive to sleep. I asked for another room as and he said to come back in the morning. The next morning the front desk guy told me the AC is working and wouldn’t issue a new room, had someone come and switch on a fuse so it would work. Photos online very different from the rooms in the hotel. Advertised full tub and large shower stalls, we received a small shower stall that was full of mildew, so much hair in the drain it wouldn’t drain. Mattress had to be 25 years old, overall disappointing for a supposedly 4-star hotel. We’ve got another place as we decided to extend our stay in Rome, and while this is advertised as a 2-star hotel it’s significantly nicer and cleaner than Hotel Torino."

"The hotel does not meet the characteristics of a 4-star hotel. The furniture in the room is quite old, not maintained. What bothered me the most was the dirty toilet. The toilet bowl was full of feces, the sink full of toothpaste and the shower was dirty. After I asked for another room and went to check it, I found that the toilet there was also dirty and had a bad smell. The front desk people were polite, but there was nothing else they could do.\nI am attaching a photo of the toilet bowl, which I had already cleaned thoroughly before taking the photo."
