Hotel Ripa Roma

"This hotel is close to the tram, but it took a long time to reach from the city center. Upon arrival, the lobby was underwhelming, but I decided to give it a chance. I was surprised to receive a room key attached to a large, bulky object and was told I had to return it to reception every time I left the hotel (very inconvenient to carry around).\n\nThe elevators were small and cramped. The hallway on our floor was dimly lit with dirty carpeting, and the room was even worse. Although spacious and equipped with a kitchen, it was filthy, dust and dirt everywhere. The carpet was visibly dirty, the air thick with dust, and the bedsheets were stained. The bathroom was unclean, with visible stains on and around the toilet.\n\nThe room had a large terrace, but the outdoor furniture was stained with brown residue, making it unusable. I tried airing the room out due to the awful smell, but turning on the AC only stirred up more dust. The kitchen cabinets were broken and dirty, and the entire space felt neglected.\n\nI went to the front desk to request a cleaner room, ideally without carpet, because I was having trouble breathing, felt itchy, and was developing hives. The manager claimed the hotel was fully booked. When I showed him that rooms were still available on their website, he just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do.\n\nI ended up finding another hotel in the center. When I returned to check out, the same manager ironically told me I should’ve asked for a different room. Thankfully, I was able to get a refund through my credit card company, since the hotel only reimbursed the tourist tax.\n\nI absolutely do not recommend this hotel. It was a disappointing and uncomfortable experience."

"This hotel claims to be 4-star, but in reality, it felt more like a 2-star experience at best. I was given a so-called “family room” located directly in the corridor, with no real privacy. The walls were dirty and marked everywhere, clearly not maintained or cleaned properly.\n\nAt night, it was nearly impossible to sleep due to loud guests talking right outside the room until midnight. The soundproofing is terrible, and the location of the room was unacceptable.\n\nThe bathroom had very low water pressure, the sink was clogged, and there were some visible safety concerns in how certain areas of the wall and fixtures were “repaired.”\n\nthere are a bugs on wall.\n\nplease look at the toilet,\n\nthat day was my nightmare , I don't recommend .\n\nOverall, the hotel was not clean, not quiet, and definitely not worth the price. I don’t know how they hold a 4-star rating—it’s completely misleading. Would not recommend staying here."

"We had a really good stay at this hotel in Trastevere. The location is great—just outside the hustle of central Rome, making it quieter and offering better value for money, yet still conveniently close to tram stops (though we mostly enjoyed the 30-minute walk into the city). It's also near plenty of great eateries and a charming square where we ended up dining every night.\n\nWe stayed in a family quadruple room for three nights, which was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed. The only minor downside was the vinyl flooring, which felt a bit clinical, but that didn’t take away from our overall comfort. The hotel itself has a cool, quirky vibe with unique art pieces that added to its charm.\n\nThe staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast selection was fabulous. While we didn’t try the on-site restaurant, we did enjoy some drinks at the bar, where the staff once again made us feel very welcome.\n\nOverall, a great base for exploring Rome—we’d definitely stay here again."
