"You could not pay me to go back here.\n\nOf the 5 hotels I stayed at in Bali, this was my least favorite (and it wasn’t the cheapest). I personally would never let a loved one stay here and do not recommend.\n\nPros:\nClean\nBig rooms with aircon\nNice pool\nWalkable from most things\n\nCons:\nNot customer-focused\nChoose money > quality of service\nNot accommodating to basic disability requests\nNo aircon in group spaces\nNo toiletries provided (and they suggested I buy my own. Not helpful).\nDownstairs rooms are depressing with bad lighting\n\nWhy it lost stars:\nThe accommodation I was requesting was to replace the orange juice that came with my meal with anything less acidic. There are 6 options for meals but only 1 vegetarian option. I clarified that I am a tongue cancer survivor and cannot drink juice that acidic and asked yo replace with banana juice (which was an option with another of the 6 meals). The manager said no but that I could pay for it. To be honest, I was so shocked that they would not provide a simple substitution for a legitimate medical reason. This has never happened in my 3 years of remission. He said he asked the owner and I am not clear if it was the owner or manager’s decision, but it is terrible hospitality and you can just do so much better in Bali. Possibly even for cheaper.\n\nThe other crazy thing is not providing soap. I was told it doesn’t come rub my room and that I could go out and buy some. Thankfully I had seen a prior review that noted this and brought the soap from my previous home stay that was literally 1/4 the cost of this hotel but with a better staff.\n\nThey just really seem to be penny pinching and not focused on genuine customer service. And again, in Bali there are just better options."

"We have been travelling now for 10 months, one of which has been here in Bali. It stands to reason then that we have some insider experience where hotels are concerned having stayed at many.\nUnfortunately we are not so impressed by this establishment and for us it has not lived up to the 5 star ratings that we see.\nWe discovered, at reception, that our room is considered a ’budget’ room and although it comes with a hair dryer, fridge, kettle, bottled water tea & coffee, it has no soap in the bathroom. Brining it to the attention of reception, thinking it was an oversight, we were told that there is hand sanitiser only and no soap is provided as it is a ‘budget’ room. We found this surprising and most unacceptable. Have they learned nothing from the recent pandemic where we all know that most importantly washing hands with soap is of paramount and sanitiser is a secondary hygiene measure? We have never, during this long travel or other travels, not had soap in a bathroom. This surely a basic requirement.\nThe reception staff was quite adamant with us that to supply us with soap is against hotel policy pointing out what amenities are included on the Bookings site. We were quite insulted by this attitude towards us over a piece of soap! Eventually, only after our persistence and after the staff had called the hotel manager who was “at an external business meeting” (Saturday evening) were we allowed two small (typical hotel) cakes of soap with the message “for tonight only”, fortunately one will do amply for our two night stay (additionally we were also given two sachets of shampoo that we did not ask for).\nFurther, the hotel appears empty which does not lend itself to a good atmosphere. Staff seem understandably to hang around looking rather uninspired. It cannot be pleasant for them. The hotel also plays Western rock music constantly that in our opinion does not fit well with the image the the hotel seems to portray, whereas some lounge Indonesian background music would more in keeping but of course this is a matter of taste.\nWe have stayed recently at another Lovina property that by comparison both atmosphere and price/value, was superior but unfortunately for us, fully booked at the time.\nOur room, described on Bookings as a ‘standard’ room (note not budget). Overall the room price/value is very questionable given our experiences to date.\nThe pool and pool area is wonderful. The hotel is very clean.\nThe staff, as with all the Balinese, are lovely. The beach is approximately 200m from the hotel and has a fabulous warung, a great place to relax and watch the sunset."
